One of the biggest advantages of joining a good franchise is that while you get on with the day-to-day challenges of running your business, someone else has got their eye on the bigger picture.
This is particularly important when it comes down to keeping abreast of new technology. In his latest column for Elite Franchise magazine, etyres Managing Director Tony Bowman, sums this up really well. In the article he examines the pitfalls as well as the opportunities.
Key to success
“Franchisees as a species are highly entrepreneurial and passionate about their businesses,” Tony explains. “Just like the franchisor, they’ll be keeping their eyes open for new ways to latch on to developing technologies and sales opportunities, yet as a result they can easily wander into areas that aren’t relevant to the core business.
“The result can be loss of focus on the sales or service proposition of the franchised business. The best way I can find to describe this phenomenon is to paraphrase Steve Jobs who famously stated that one of his most important roles at Apple was deciding which new areas not to become involved in.”
To sum this up, while rapidly advancing technology opens a pathway to a world of new potential, it can also lead you down a blind alley. It is surprisingly easy to fall victim to fads that will fail.
“A competent franchisor will know what to adopt but, even more importantly, what to avoid,” according to Tony.
We pride ourselves as pioneers in this industry. As the UK’s first e-commerce tyre franchise, we set the standard for selling online. We have continued to be at the forefront of transforming and leading the way tyres are sold and fitted for more than two decades.
If you would like to find out more about an etyres franchise we would love to hear from you. Although our branches are spread across the UK, we still have some key territories available. Many of these already have a loyal customer database.
