We are delighted to welcome Josh Wilkinson who has taken over the etyres Ipswich branch.
Josh was determined he wanted to be his own boss and throw all his energy and enthusiasm into building a business he would enjoy and which would bring financial rewards.
“I had been doing various jobs,” Josh explained, “including working in the seed and farming industry, but I was looking for an opportunity that I could really get stuck into.
“I saw etyres Ipswich advertised and discussed it with my dad. He had already heard of etyres and was planning on using them the next time he needed new tyres after he had been ripped off by a local fast-fit chain. It was the usual thing, they gave him a price, fitted the tyres and then tried to charge him a lot more than they had quoted!
“We could both see that tyres are something which people will always need to buy, they are not a luxury. Also the mobile fitting concept is brilliant, because people don’t want to spend their time in a tyre depot. So we could see a future in etyres.
“We were both also very impressed with how Matt had built the branch up from scratch. Matt explained he came into etyres with a five year plan and after achieving his goals he was ready to take on a new challenge.
“He has build a great customer base and etyres has a very strong reputation in the area. I believe I can really improve on this and am looking forward to working really hard to grow the business so that I can get a second van on the road as soon as possible.”
Matt took Josh out on the van before he was due to take over the reins, so that he could familiarise himself with the vehicle and the equipment, while picking up more practical operational tips.
Josh’s dad Phil, who is a stockbroker, was happy to lend his son his financial support so that he could buy etyres Ipswich and is also going to be working alongside him for the first couple of weeks when he begins trading.
His mum Alison is getting involved too and will be helping out with the administration side of the business, assisting with the accounts and marketing.
Josh said: “I am really fortunate to have the support and backing of my parents and I am looking forward to developing and expanding etyres Ipswich.”
