We would like to offer a warm welcome to Rob Walker who has immersed himself as the new owner of etyres Ashford.
Rob, formerly a self-employed commercial diver, decided to make a dramatic career change, because he wanted to be able to enjoy spending more quality time with his son, instead of travelling away from home for work.
“I wanted to continue working for myself, but I needed to change my lifestyle and franchising seemed a sensible option,” Rob, 33, explained. “I have always been very interested in cars, so that obviously gave me a starting point and helped to influence my decision.
“I looked at various options, but etyres stood out for me, because I could see the business model made sense, it also had a good family feel to it and is held in high regard by the British Franchise Association.
“The training has been very thorough, starting out at head office and covering everything from marketing and accounts, to being out on the road and getting one-on-one training in the practical side of the business.
“My brother Richard is also having the tyre fitting training sessions with me, because our plan is that I will get a second van soon and he will come into the business as a partner.”
With the distinction of being the UK’s first online mobile tyre fitting company, etyres continues to build its reputation as a highly respected, award-winning franchise. It is also a full member of the British Franchise Association (bfa), which is widely regarded as the hallmark of ethical franchising practice in the UK.
