Our newest Franchise Owners, husband and wife team Alex and Tracy Ralph have settled into the driving seat at etyres Edinburgh this week.
With temperatures still dropping below freezing overnight in their vibrant city, they are in for a frosty start weather-wise, but certain to receive a warm welcome from local customers.
Alex will be running etyres Edinburgh, with support in the admin areas from Tracy, and is looking forward to launching his new career, after working in the drilling industry for more than 25 years.
“I travelled and lived abroad extensively during that time,” Alex explained, so after taking redundancy he wanted to find a new challenge closer to home on the outskirts of Edinburgh.
“I knew I wanted to run my own business and after a lot of research I could see franchising was the best option. I also quickly recognised that etyres was a good fit for me, because I knew I could do the work and have always been a car and motorbike enthusiast, so it would interest me.
“From an investment point of view it also made sense because people will always need new tyres and it is a job you can do in any weather – which is an important consideration where we live.
“I was delighted to find out that my local etyres Edinburgh franchise was for sale and after spending time chatting to the owner and finding out more about the opportunities it offered, I decided it was the right choice to make.”
Alex and Tracy completed the administrative side of their comprehensive training programme at the etyres Head Office in Cambridge last week, where they tackled all aspects of running their new business from marketing to accountancy.
“Everything has been spot on,” Alex said. “I worked in senior management in the drilling industry and was used to being on call 24/7 – now I am going to be shouldering all the responsibility for my own business, but I know I have the back up at Head Office if I need it. I can’t wait to get on with it!”
