April sees the launch of our latest new Franchise as Raymond Bushell gets etyres St Helens up and running. Ray had previously been working as a traffic administrator with Ford, but after 38 years with the company he retired two years ago. However, it was not long before he realised this was not the life for him and he was eager to get back to work – only this time he wanted to be his own boss so he could reap the rewards of his labor.
Ray said: “I had been with Ford for 38 years and after two years of doing virtually nothing I became really, really bored. I knew I had plenty of experience and enthusiasm to put into a new career, I just had to find the right opportunity.” His passion for cars was a good starting point when Ray considered his future path. “I knew I was not going to go into brain surgery, but knowing it was going to be a car-related business made it easier.”
“I saw an advert in a Sunday newspaper for etyres and I really liked the business and it was something I would enjoy.” His main aim for the business is to grow the branch as swiftly as possible, so that he can welcome his son Philip, 25, into the fold. “Like me, he knows his way round cars and I really hope that one day he will take over the business.”
